The Bob Marley Tribute Show featuring SHEMREGGAE
Shemreggae is the only Australian artist to have recorded and toured with The Original Wailers of Bob Marley fame. That collaboration continues to the current time with the new Shemreggae album, “Dangerous”. Recorded in early 2024 and released in June of the same year, on Spotify.
Shemreggae's musical journey of 30 years began in Queensland, Australia, as 'Exodus'. They performed across the country and headlined Australia’s very own Reggae Sunsplash in the late 90s. Catapulting them to the leading reggae band in the country. They toured the Pacific and worked with international acts; namely - ‘Inner Circle’, ‘Lucky Dube’ and members of Julian Marley’s (Bob’s son) band, ‘Uprising Band’.
On Shemreggae’s first album, ‘Traffic Jam’, the band was backed by The Original Wailers in Jamaica. Many have regarded the album as one of The Wailers greatest works. The Australian tour, which followed, played to ‘sold out’ shows.
Since then, Shemreggae has released three albums. The current Original Wailers association continues with them backing up on the 2024 ‘Dangerous’ album (all Shemreggae original tracks).
Early in 2024, when the recording was complete, Shem began the new, now musical direction and formed The Bob Marley Tribute Show featuring Shemreggae. This unique ‘big band reggae concept’ is a 9-piece show band with a showcase of international musical professionals.
Drums, Bass guitar, Rhythm/Lead guitar, Keyboards, Saxophone, Trumpet, two female back-up singers, and Shem on lead vocals. Its musical appeal will captivate and thrill audiences with a love and adoration of Bob Marley, the reggae genre and music, generally.
The new dynamic will thrill audiences with classics from the ‘Legend’ album and Shemreggae originals; all delivered with his unique energetic passion. Shem’s outstanding stage presence and showmanship combine with his vibrant, raspy vocals: Reminiscent of Marley times, blending seamlessly with the melodic harmonies of the back-up singers.
The show brings the ‘WOW’ factor to the overall musicality and dynamic uniqueness. It continues the time honoured legacy to the icon, the genre and its musical message:
