Once protégé to Kanye, Jay-Z and Pharrell, this his smart, charismatic and energetic performer’s second album, The Cool, has shot him into the big leagues in his own right.
At Glastonbury just gone, LUPE and his band pulled off “one the best sets of the day with a neat line of festival-friendly hip hop soul (Daydreamin’, American Terrorist) and unintentional comedy onstage banter,” wrote The Guardian. He was also part of “one of 2008’s most talked-about bills” in the US with Rihanna and N.E.R.D on Kanye West’s Glow in the Dark tour: “The stage was bare for his performance,” said Rolling Stone, “but FIASCO made up for it with vibrant physical energy.”
